I agree with @gdiepen, the use of git is preferred to do development work.

Not sure what exactly is going on, what is the exact error you are getting? My personal experience is that things like Onedrive / google drive / dropbox often caused all kinds of problematic behavior (at least when I tried some years ago). In my case it often was caused by some temporary files that were synced, then removed, but then automatically restored.
Therefore, I never use these kind of synced folders for any project work but I always rely on something like git to keep track of my history (and have a backup).
It could be that these synced folders have improved behavior for this, but I have not tried it anymore
