Hi All,

How can I change number decimal separator from comma to dot in WebUI?

Thanks,

Lilla

Hi Lilla,

You can do this by changing the language settings in your browser. For example, when using Google Chrome:

  1. Go to ‘Settings’;
  2. Click on ‘Advanced’ at the bottom of the page;
  3. In the ‘Languages’ section that appears, expand the languages by clicking on the down arrow to the right of your currently selected language;
  4. Now either add a new language, or from the list of already added languages that appears, pick one which uses a comma as the decimal separator (for example: Dutch) and from the ‘More actions’ menu (the so-called ‘kebab’ button on the right) choose ‘Move to the top’.

When refreshing your WebUI page after that, you will notice that the decimal separator has changed (and the thousand separator as well).

Kind regards,

Mischa

Hi @bedelillla , hope you were able to follow Mischa's instructions. Did it work out as expected?

Hi all,

I tried the same and it did work for me!

But I can't ask all the users of the app to do the same, it's hard to connect to all of them for such a small thing.

This is especially inconvenient when you are working with a number pad and have different keyboard settings then the browser settings (for me it was keyboard set to English and Chrome to Dutch), So if I would want to type ‘5.4’ (5 and 4 tenths), because of the Dutch settings it would change to 54 in the WebUI. Is there any other way than asking the user to change there settings to avoid this?

Regards,

Guus

Hi Guus,

I certainly understand the practical inconvenience that you describe.

However, currently I am not aware of an alternative way to do this. I will create a feature request for an option to take care of this in a more simple way.

@Mischa , thanks, @Guus Kattenbelt @bedelillla , that;s why I moved this ticket to the “Share Your Ideas”-category

Hi, @Mischa.

I tried your solution, with both portuguese (BR) and Dutch, but it didn’t change, even if I restart Google Chrome:

Dutch language selected

Number format didn’t change

Remark: it’s an aimms cloud app.

Do you know if it still works? Thanks!
