Can I create a WebUI with my free academic license?

What are some best practices to develop WebUI’s to consider a user who has their screen set to say 125% magnification in Windows? Am I stuck with just changing my screen magnification to see the results?

The column, by which we want to sort, contains an element parameter whose range is a calendar. If I sort the table by the column, it sorts as if its elements were strings, not dates.

Hi, For some time now we have been struggling with communicating error, warning, and info messages to the end users.  We tried working with the dialogs (webui::requestPerformWebUIDialog) but found that unsatisfying because you have to be careful with the asynchronous workflow in the webui and you can not request a dialog when the user has a dialog open. So we tried to abuse the raise warning mechanism, only to discover the dark blue message displayed in developer mode (see screenshot) does not show in end-user mode.   My question is:  What's the best practice for communicating a simple message to the user? Like "Data saved”, "Order .. added, or "Invalid entry in field ...”. Thanks for your idea's!!   --- Ps. Perhaps I'm looking for something like the good old WinUI dialogMessage()

I am using benders decomposition is an approach to solve my problem. One last question, is there any other suggestion to improve my solution? Is there a way i can "play" with the tolerance or something else?  Any suggestion?

In 4.72 we introduced an experimental feature to allow you to detect the current page an end user is on. This was announced as  WebUI State Support. We are introducing the CurrentPageID for WebUI feature so modelers can benefit from the location (i.e. current page/browser tab) of the user of the application and adjust e.g. the workflow accordingly or run specific validation routines. Initially, this will also be offered as an Experimental Feature so we can get feedback on the behavior. For more information see the documentation.   Any experience/feedback you can share?

Hello,  I would like to create a project with AIMMS about transport problems. All my figures are in an excel table. How can I rearrange my table for use in AIMMS?  I have successfully added the AIMMS tool to my Excel spreadsheet.  Thank you in advance.

When I create a project in a folder, which is synced by OneDrive, and I try to add a widget in the WebUI, I get the following error message: “awf.state: Problem writing ‘MainProject/webui.json’ on the server (500: boost::filesystem::create_directory: Eine Datei kann nicht erstellt werden, wenn sie bereits vorhanden ist: [...])’ (translates to: “a file cannot be created when it already exists”). I can continue working in the WebUI, but when I close the project, all my work is lost. I do not experience the problem, as soon as I move the complete project folder outside of OneDrive.  Does anyone else have the same problem? AIMMS version: 4.71.6.8 (64-bit)

I have the following Gantt Chart (see Figure 1) that starts on the current date. Figure 1I would like to shift the tasks to the past by a “x” amount of minutes/hours, which is simple to do. Nevertheless, when I shift, I get the following chart (see Figure 2): Figure 2Notice that in Figure 2 some tasks stay over the the y axis. I would like the part that goes over the axis to stay behind it. Any comments on this issue? Many thanks! Leonardo  

It seems the data-widget.uri selector for the selectionbox widget can only be accessed in the div of the code that manages the non-dropdown options.  The div that controls the dropdown options is farther down and does not have the data-widget.uri selector available. How can I change the styling of the fonts in the dropdown box if I want to change them for exactly ONE selectionbox widget only?

In WebUI in the Map widget I can change the outline of the label, but not the color of the label. Notice what my font looks like with the following css: Here’s the result: I recall having a similar issue with the labels on the Gantt chart, for which the solution was to use the selector .label. I have tried this with the map widget with no success. Can you please tell me what css I need to style this?

Hi, I’m able to set the height of the headers in a widget → However, is it also possible to change the number of lines from 1 to 2 / 3? I tried a few things in CSS but it didn’t work.   I’m looking for something like this:   Preferably with a title line and a smaller subtitle line

Identifiers with code:binary range are displayed as checkboxes in table and scalar widgets of AIMMS WebUI, by default. You can render on/off switches instead of checkboxes using CSS. Here

Is is possible to add a label to a bar chart widget?  Looking to this picture, it is not clear if the supply in Hamburg is 68/69. I would be happy with the following labels:    (and also the legend would be great)

Hi, I read some topics about setting the colors of a legend widget. However, I think that those topics are related to a fixed color for a specific item.  For example, parameter pDemand(iscen), I use an color per scenario to show different colors in a line chart via an annotation spAnnotion(iscen). Now I want to show the same colors in the legend widget, So I made a parameter pLegend(iscen) with the same annotation spAnnotation(iscen). I would expect that the legend is using the same colors as the line chart.  But the colors of the legend are not changing?

  We noticed a few customers asking to have control on when to start showing the Progress “Busy” Message bar on top of an Application while AIMMS is executing something (default is 0.4 seconds). For example, when there is execution going on, but it’s just above the default threshold and you do not want to see this message yet.  This can be easily achieved by adding the following custom CSS: /* do not show busy window for first 1.5 seconds */.veiled .tag-veil { transition-delay: 1.5s;}   Please know that data changes are still blocked so don’t make this to long as else users might think the App itself is not responsive; e.g. clicking a cell or item in a chart won’t work until the execution is done. Dear community of AIMMS WebUI Users, With the upcoming end of life of Windows 7 (Jan 14, 2020), all Windows users should by now be on Windows 10 or higher and therefore have the Edge browser available as the primary browser. During our development of the AIMMS WebUI, Internet Explorer 11 support has always been an expensive and tedious task and a burden to innovate fast (and we are not the only software company facing this). Therefore, we are removing the support for Internet Explorer 11 and ask you to use the Edge browser to run AIMMS WebApps as of January 2020. If you have the choice, we still recommend the Chrome browser as the preferred browser.    We are making this decision based on the support tables of Microsoft and the wish to free up expensive developers time to support old technology. However, we also are aware that possibly a small group of customers might not be ready to give up Internet Explorer 11. If so, we love to hear from you.   PS: For accuracy, I should have mentio
