Hi all, Data security is always top of mind for a lot of companies of course and therefore also when using AIMMS apps. Therefore I would like to pitch the idea of a two-step verification method for the PRO portal. We as a company are working with SAML access for the PRO portal for our own employees and therefore securing two-step verification. But we also work together with consultants. They also need access to the PRO portal, but can’t get a company identity. The only option there is now is creating a user profile for them with only a password as a security measure. Therefore I would like to see two-step verification as an option for the PRO portal, such that any data accessible through the Apps in the PRO portal is more secure.
I could not find any documentation in the SC Navigator Product Manual explaining the infeasibility analysis feature. The only explanation I found was a video in the Strategic Network Design e-learning course.
AbstractA functionality within the modeling language to relax a constraint and/or variable bound and re-solve will save development time as well as provide control to the decision-maker(s) when a particular instance of a math programming model is infeasible. One candidate solution is to introduce a suffix for constraints that allows for this functionality. MotivationAn instance of a math programming model can be infeasible due to a particular set of parameter values. It may be that not all parameters are certain or that not all constraints and/or variable bounds are hard. Tools like Irreducible Infeasible Set (IIS) in MIP solvers help the expert understand and debug the model formulation. They do not necessarily offer a practical way to parse the information and report the finding to the end-user/decision-maker. In practice, adding a set of slack variables (note: for a lack of better terminology, using the term slack here to denote the slack required in a constraint to make it feasible; not to be confused with slack variables in linear programming) to constraints and setting up a feasibility problem (to minimize total slack required or other appropriate measure) is more approachable to provide control to the end-user. However, this requires the following.Slack variables are declared and added to the relevant constraints. Identifiers are declared and used as bounds for variables. An appropriate objective is defined to setup the feasibility problem. Math program is setup to exclude the variables while solving for the original objective and include the variables while solving for the feasibility problem either by manipulating the definition of a subset of AllVariables (corresponding to the slacks) that defines the math program, or fixing the slack variables to zero and relaxing them. All the information required to define the feasibility problem may not be available at the time developing the first math programming model and during subsequent iterations. It can be time-consuming during development or lead to errors while manually updating the model. Further, it may destroy the structure of the problem to develop advanced algorithms later on (at least when using the approach of fixing the slack variables to zero and then relaxing them later). Solution CandidateAdd a functionality in the AIMMS modeling language to relax a constraint or variable bound by introducing a new suffix for constraints and variables. Maintain a one-to-one feasibility model behind the scenes and solve it when requested. MIP solvers like CPLEX and Gurobi already support this natively (GRBModel.FeasRelax() - Gurobi Optimization and IBM Documentation - IBM Documentation). Alternatively, generate a model with slacks as a runtime library somehow and generalize it for other types of math programs. The suffix denoting the relaxation could consider non-binary values to also represent a priority order or even the objective function coefficient corresponding to the constraint/variable bound for the feasibility problem.
A recent map widget feature got us wondering with AIMMS User support, if AIMMS community would be benefit from a help-in-product feature. This feature would directly link widget options in WebUI to its corresponding documentation, through a tooltip (for example) “As a developer, and end user (role) I need the easiest accessible docs (functionality) , so I can develop much faster, and/or use the full scope of AIMMS widgets (goal) .” It could look like what we do see in Gitlab, for instance: This would also help us to be more consistent in our documentation generation at AIMMS. Please tell us what you think, and also suggest what would be your dream ! Would this feature make your life easier ? If yes, how much ?.. :)
While converting a WinUI to a WebUI I have run into a line graph with an area shaded. That's a nice little option in WinUI, however if it's available in WebUI at this point I can't find it. Is it available? And if not, do you have a recommended workaround in the meantime? Thanks!
Hi, I have a line chart in where we show stock levels per day. For example for a period of 3 months ( 90 days, in a widget with column width 7. However, in the WebUI, the labels on the x-axis are empty: Toggle full-screen gives the following result: So I was thinking, let’s use a elementtextidentifier to only show a few of the items to make it less crowded. I created a string parameter for the set on the x-axis and only filled the first day of the week. However, all the empty values where filled with the original values. Therefore I added empty strings (“ “) to the rest of the days in a week. Which works in the “full screen mode” but not on the original page: Full screen: On the original page I would like to show the same layout as in the last full-screen screen, is this possible?
I'm requesting a secondary axis on the line chart. Here is why: We have encountered a number of situations where we want to put two different types of data in one linechart. It is desired to combine the two types of data to see how they interact, but often they have a different scale or unit of measurement. For example, the image below shows some value and is cumulative. If we show the true cumulative (which runs from 0 to 100), the light blue curve would look like a flat line close to 0. As a work around we re-scale the cumulative value to create a nice picture, but now the y-axis makes no sense for the dark blue line. Although we can clarify much via tooltips, it’s not ideal. Therefore, having a secondary axis would be a great solution. Light blue some value, Dark blue the cumulative of the value
To be able to clarify the user what is being displayed in the line chart, I would like to display a legend within the line chart. Something like this: Be able to put a legend in the line chart widgetNote: I realize this post is similar to: https://community.aimms.com/aimms-developer-12/how-can-i-show-the-legend-on-a-webui-linechart-263 . But in that post, the solution suggested is to create a separate legend widget and style it through css. We choose not to apply that solution/work-around, because is will clutter the look and feel of the page too much.
We would like to put a label on the y-axis of a line chart to let the user know what he/she is looking at. A name and unit of measurement on the y-axis is at least good practice, but perhaps even a must have. As far as I can see this is not possible yet. Am I missing something? If it's not possible, then please consider this as a feature request.
This doesn’t work at the moment and would make my life easier.
I’m looking for a widget in where you can change text sizes / colors etc. The text widget is perfect for doing this. However, when the application is opened via PRO, the user is not able to change anything in this widget. So I tried a scalar widget, there it is possible to change the text but the styling of the widget is fixed. I would be happy if; It is possible to change the styling of the scalar widget it is possible to change the text widget in the pro environment The reason for this request is that the customer is showing the tool during a meeting and he wants to add key notes to the pages.
Hi AIMMSians, The last update on academic license delivery came with great features. However, I started to have some problems with the Internet connectivity condition. My runs usually take few hours, sometimes even a day. During these long runs, sometimes my internet connection drops for a minute, cause I have a weak wifi. If this happens when the solves is finished, I can see the error window and click on reconnect. But, when it is solving, then AIMMS just halts at the middle of the solve and exits without asking. This issue was dragging my work and my colleagues for the past two weeks. I understand that you would like to tighten your academic license policy, but I suggest to keep the internet connection requirement to a longer frequency (e.g. weekly). Please let me know if there is an other idea or workaround to resolve this issue.
Hello Comunity! I’d like to show additional information to a button, like what to expect by clicking on it. Is it possible? I’ve tried to use a sting paramter for the button’t title, and to connect a tooltip to that, but it didn’t worked. Tried with simple text and in HTML format too. Thanks, Bogi
I would like to be able to make larger dialog pages than is currently possible in the AIMMS WebUI. One use case as an example: Currently I'm working on Schedule Compare functionality, that (ideally) would be an overlay screen on top of the current Gantt Chart page. The overlay would then contain 2 Gantt Charts (before and after, so to say). Unfortunately the largest available dialog page is too small to properly show 2 Gantt Charts.
As a end user (role) I need the ability to export graphics as images or pdf documents (functionality) , so I can make a presentation with the results of optimization (goal).Graphs refer to the following WebUI widgets:Bar Chart Widget Bar-Line Chart Widget Bubble Chart Widget Gantt Chart Widget Line Chart Widget Pie Chart Widget Tree Map WidgetCurrent workflow:Key widgets defined by end users are duplicated in WinUI and exported to pdf using standard AIMMS functionality bound to widget action or screenshots are taken.Looking forward to discuss this topic!
For table widget, it would be good to have an export in pdf format that can be structured in AIMMS.Now there is only an option to export to csv.
I would like to thank AIMMS developers for adding the new academic license delivery which removes the requirement to be always on an academic domain. However, this new license system comes with some minor disturbances, which can be improved if developers agree with that. Everytime I open the AIMMS software, I need to accept the academic license agreement. It is frustrating to tick the box and accept everytime. It would be nice if the software remembers my choice and don't ask for this agreement everytime I open it. Before this new license delivery system, I was able to open the AIMMS by double clicking the icon. Now I need to first start the aimms luncher, choose my aimms version (I have only the latest), and then click on Lunch. Although, it looks straightforward but there are many unnecessary steps before starting the application. It would be nice if the application gets detached from the luncher, so I can quickly start it when I click on the icon. This can be done by adding an option in the AIMMS luncher app to provide a shortcut for the specific version. What do you think?
It would be great if AIMMS could have built-in drivetime calculation functionality. Specially useful for Network Design projects. Wondering if this is something which has already been though about or is in the pipeline.
In WinUI you have have two y-axis designations on a 2d chart - one for lines and one for bars. Can we have that, please? In theory it sounds pretty easy. I'm hoping it will be easy in practice as well. :D Thanks!
Hi! I would like to know if it is possible to open an excel worksheet template and copy a sheet using axll library. Currently, I think only these functions are available: We aim to use this function to pre-format some columns with colors. Thanks!
Hi, The set “AllRegularPages” contains a parameter “CurrentRegularPage”, in the comment of this set the following is mentioned:“The element parameter CurrentRegularPage can be used to identify the pageId the user is on currently. ”So, I would expect that “CurrentRegularPage” is filled with the ID of the page which is open in the WebUI. However, this parameter is empty in my project. Is this a bug or should I use this parameter in a different way?Regards,Olmo
