Create an executable file for WinUI AIMMS project deployment

Hello, everyone. I have been working to develop a WinUI for an AIMMS project. The UI development is almost over and I am trying to create an executable file (or anything equivalent in AIMMS) for the project so that any user can only access the user interface (without seeing the source code) and run the project. Could anyone please guide me to any resources that explains how to create such executable files? Thanks.

doubt with 2D chart

Hi. I have a parameter with index domain (scenario, year). I want to have a plot of parameter (scenario, year) vs year which looks something like in the image attached. In the image, for example, the number of scenarios is two. However, in my project, the number of scenarios changes with user input data. Could anyone please guide me to any resource (example project) in which such type of plots are generated or could give any suggestions how do I proceed to create such plots? Thanks.

Maximization in objective MILP

Hello, In my model, I want to include the following function in the objective: [sum[p, x(a,p,t) * (M(a,p) - 1)] - w(a,t) + - h(a) - i,0]]^+ (where M(a,p), h(a) and i are parameters and x(a,p,t) and w(a,t) are variables), thus: we want to get the maximum of sum[p, x(a,p,t) * (M(a,p) - 1)] - w(a,t) + - h(a) - i,0] and 0. But, I am dealing with a linear model. Is there maybe a modeling trick that I can use in order to rewrite this part of the objective (so a function that gives the maximum of another function and 0) in a linear part? I hope you can help me.

Error message set definition

Hi, In vs 4.74 I get an errormessage, which did not appear in vs. 4.69.: "A function call in the initial data of a set is not allowed. Either use a definition or assign the set in a procedure.", I see that when opening the declaration the set property is "initial data”, and I used the function elementrange for definition. However, I do not see an option to change "initial data” into "definition”. How can I repair this?

CPLEX Return Local Optimal

Hello everyone, CPLEX returns optimal solution for small instances of a MIP model. But when try to solve a larger instance, CPLEX return a local optimum (solution checked by a heuristic). The model is MIP with a number of Big-M formulations that are replaced by Indicator Constraints. For one of the large instances: # of constraints: 2086337 #of variables: 1122331 (66225 int) #of none zero: 7223176 It takes 53557 seconds for CPLEX to close the optimality Gap. Any idea? please share your thought.

Using modulo operator in constraint programming

When I want to use the modulo function in my linear model, I get the following error: “Constraint programming constraints cannot be used in combination with real valued variables, only with integer valued variables, element valued variables and activities.”. In my constraint I calculate the modulo of (x_{zht}*(t-1), Z) where Z is a parameter and I have used the function Ord to calculate the first part of the modulo, so x_{zht}*(Ord(t)-1). Also, I have tried making the indices a subset of Integers and label it as numeric, but then the model does not give any solution anymore (even when I turn the modulo constraint off). How can I make the constraints containing the modulo function in my linear model work?

Find ArgMax in a 2-dimensional Parameter

Hi, so with the ArgMax function I can find the maximum value out of a Parameter of numbers like this: ArgMax(i, SomeParamter(i)) However I would like to find the maximum value in a 2-dimensional Paramter. So ideally I would like to do something like this: ArgMax((i,j), Some2DimensionalParamter(i,j)) This is not possible though, because apperently only one index is permitted for the iterative operator argmax. Does anyone have an idea how this could be done? Thank you!

Cannot open case

Dear All, I did a save as to a new case and run the model again. However, I cannot open the new case and the dialog box said that “is not an AIMMS case file” as shown in following figure. Is there a way to fix this? Many thanks.

If statement in constraint

Dear all, In my model, I work with multiple factories. Each factory has a minimum lotsize requirement, meaning that IF a product run is initiated, it must be at least xxx big. I tried to put it in as follows: I have a parameter MinimumSKULotsize(f), which specifies the minimum lotsize per factory; I have a binary variable ProductInFactory(f,p,t), where 1 indicates a production run of that product at that factory in that time unit, and 0 does not. I have a variable ProductionAllocation(p,f,t) which indicates how much of each product is allocated to which factory at which time unit. I tried to add the constraints: SKULotsizeConstraint0 with index (f,p,t) | ProductInFactory(f,p,t) = 0 and definition ProductionAllocation(f,p,t) = 0 SKULotsizeConstraint1 with index (f,p,t) | ProductInFactory(f,p,t) = 1 and definition ProductionAllocation(f,p,t) >= MinSKULotsize(f) However, I am getting the warning: Warning: The index domain contains the variable "ProductInFactory". Weird infeasibility listing

Hi everyone, Today I was running my energy model and I faced this weird infeasibility in the listing file: balance_activities(Houses - Residential Terrace,2050) .. + 1 * tech_use(Res03_01,2050) + 1 * tech_use(Res03_02,2050) + 1 * tech_use(Res03_03,2050) + 1 * tech_use(Res03_04,2050) + 1 * tech_use(Res03_05,2050) >= 4060 ; **** name lower upper tech_use(Res03_01,2050) 0 0 tech_use(Res03_02,2050) 0 0 tech_use(Res03_03,2050) 0 0 tech_use(Res03_04,2050) 0 0 tech_use(Res03_05,2050) 0 4060.000 It seems the upper bound of tech_use(Res03_05,2050) is respecting the mentioned constraint as 4060.000 is larger than 4060. How to exclude "na" values in Min-/Max-Operators?

Hello together, I have declared a parameter as an Min-Operator, which have to indicate the minimal objective function value for each k across all j. Background: In each k at least one j is infeasible (objective function value = “na”) as certain restrictions are violated. As a result, the problem occurs that the Min-Operator outputs "na" as the minimum value for each k. The Min-Operator’s definition is as follows: Index domain: k min(j,Parameter(j,k)) Does anybody now how to exclude “na” in the Min-Operator’s definition? Thank you in advance! Best regards David

Multi Depot VRP with Intermediate Facilities

Hi teams, I’m working in multi-depot VRP with Intermediate Facilites and used assumptions as follow: vehicles will depart and return in same depot vehicles will only arrive at most one customer vehicles are heterogenous with two type of capacity But the model results infeasible integer solution, Could anyone help me to fix the issue..? And also, I want to make Intermediate Facilities where can receive from depot and distribute to customer. The intermediate Facilities are Location 3,4,5,6. Could anyone help me how to model it..? Find number of constraints and variables

Dear mr/ms, For a school project I have been working in AIMMS. However after solving our problem, we need to validate our model. Our professor said that we had to look at the #variables and the #constraints shown in the progress feed. However, after searching on internet for a few hours we could not find anything that defined these numbers. Are there some basic calculation steps to find the #constraints and the #variables? Writing data back to MSSQL table containing an identity column

I want to write back changes to a MSSQL database after reading information from a table. The table is designed to provide a minimum working example and has two columns: ID: ID column starting with 1, increments with 1 VALUE: column containing integer values. I have managed to read from this database table, however, I want to be able to change a value in AIMMS and then write back the change using write p_parameter(i_ID) to table db_TableName; However, this gives me an error stating that I'm not allowed to insert manally into an ID column. This makes sense of course, but how do I prevent AIMMS from trying to insert into the ID column and replace old values by new ones instead?

Binary variable have fractional value

Hi I am using AIMMS for solving a planning problem in electrical engineering field. The optimization problem is a MILP. I have some variables that are defined to be binary but when the AIMMS solve the problem some of the binary variables have fractional values, which is weird. I should mention that the relax status is used for solving linear version of MIP, but in the case that I am talking about the relax status variable is set to zero to have binary answers. Most of the answers are binary except for some of them that have fractional values. I would be grateful if someone could help me to solve this issue.

Question about sets that involve the dollar symbol ‘$’

Hi all, I would like to define a set of valid CAPEX units. To this end, I wrote: Set SI_Valid_CAPEX_Cost_Units { Definition: { data{$/kW,$/MJ} } } However, I obtain the compilation error “The symbol “$” is not expected.” The error points to the line data{$/kW,$/MJ}. I can’t figure out why, since I defined another set this way: Set PossibleUnits { Definition: data { g, kg, oz, j, kj, kcal }; }

Giving Parameters Dynamic Values

Hey everyone, I´m currently using Aimms to build a model for my Bachelor Thesis. I have never worked with Aimms before so I´m pretty clueless in some regard. So my problem is the following constraint: sum [i, aSP(h,i)*x(i,t)] + sum [j, sum [m, aFP(h,m)*(y(j,m,t))]] <= Capacity(h) Here x(i,t) and y(j,m,t) are the decision variables which represent the accepted requests for two Product types. i are the different types of Product x and j are different types for Product y. t stands for different Periods. aSP and aFP indicate if product x(i) or y(j) needs Ressource h for its production. I have declared Capacity(h) as a parameter with values for each h. My Problem is now that the Programm takes these values for each seperate period, but the capacity in period 2 is of course lower than the capacity in period 1 and so on. I also cant just declare Capacity parameters for each period, because the remaining capacity in the periods after period 1 depend on the sold products and therefore the alrea
