How is it going with WebUI States? Request for feedback

In 4.72 we introduced an experimental feature to allow you to detect the current page an end user is on. This was announced as WebUI State Support. We are introducing the CurrentPageID for WebUI feature so modelers can benefit from the location (i.e. current page/browser tab) of the user of the application and adjust e.g. the workflow accordingly or run specific validation routines. Initially, this will also be offered as an Experimental Feature so we can get feedback on the behavior. For more information see the documentation. Any experience/feedback you can share?

Linking Excel to Project

Hi there, I’m an AIMMS newbee - needing it for a uni-project. I’m having a lot of trouble connecting my Excel file to the AIMMS Project. When I try to run my procedures to read the data I’m getting an error: permission denied. Tried to insert the procedures in the Interface Setup in my Excel Add-In but am still not getting it right Any common fixes there for regular newbee-mistakes?

Warning: The local index is modified inside the for loop

In my application, I need to do some stuff with subsets of different sizes of some superset. So I created a set containing the sizes of the subsets and loop over this set of sizes. In each iteration, I extract the subset from the big set using NBest procedure. The sizes of the subsets are ordered in descending order. The use of NBest raises the warning “The local index "_i_SizeOfSubset" is modified inside the for loop. The condition of the for loop will be re-evaluated, which can be time consuming. For details on this warning message see the help of the option warning_time_consuming_for_threshold.”. I don’t understand why _i_SizeOfSubset needs to be modified if I pass it to NBest. Using val(_i_SizeOfSubset) does not help either. Could somebody explain to me please, why the warning is issued, and how this could be formulated without modification of _i_SizeOfSubset inside the loop? Simple Scheduling Problem

Hello, i am new to aimms and completed the beginners tutorial and tried to understand the machine planning example, but it was to complicated for me to understand all of it. I want to solve a scheduling problem but i have problems creating the model. Let me explain my situation: In the production there are build articles from different orders and they are transported inside the company within containers. The transport limitation is 8 containers an hour. I want to solve the problem and want the best order which is <= 8 containers an hour, if not possible, than the next following orders should be so small, that it will be compensated, if not possible, a gap with no production time should be inserted. It would be ideal, that the same article is produced in one step (e.g. Article 52107 has to be build for 3 different customer orders). After all, i want to visualize it. My first problem is, that i don’t know how to produce on order after another and make the timeline to calculate the demand

Bilevel Optimization and Stackelberg Games

Hello everyone. I have been looking to solve a train scheduling problem using bilevel optimization. In this problem, two conflicting objectives are considered: the operator’s and the passengers’, having the passengers’ optimization problem nested inside the operator’s optimization problem (as a constraint). Is it possible to model this type of bilevel optimization problem? If not, are there other approaches using stackelberg games that can be considered? Thank you very much.

Questions about specific summation

Hello everyone, I face some issues to implement a constraint on AIMMS. Just to introduce you the problem: Y(o,l,t) is a binary variable which is equal to 1 if a liquid l (a beer) is ready in tank o at period t; Delta(l) is the fermentation time for a liquid l; How can I implement this constraint? Releasing RAM memory after finishing with an execution

I want to clear the memory used by AIMMS after running an execution. I delete the GMP but still huge amount of RAM is occupied by AIMMS after the run. So I have to close and open the AIMMS to have a fresh start (i.e. with a clear RAM memory). Is there anyway to clean the RAM used by AIMMS after the execution so I do not need to close and open it again and again? Thanks in advance.

AIMMS ERROR: Warning: After zero iterations CPLEX 12.7.1 concluded that an integer solution to VRP does not exist.

I am currently working on a vehicle routing problem and get this error when i try to run it. Does anyone know how to fix it. I have also attached the excel file where the data is stored. (Ignore the emission zones column) Kind regards Prakash

How can I disable warnings of the Excel library (AXLL)

I am using the axll library to read my excel database into the Aimms. The number of observations in my database can change each time before running the model in Aimms, and I do not want to make changes to the datareading procedure each time. So, in the datareading procedure (which uses AXLL library) I set the reading row to a bigger number than the maximum number of observations to always read all the database no matter how many observations are in my database. For example: for an specific identifier, I can have 1 up to 5 rows of data. so I set the excel range as A1:A5. The problem is that I get warnings that the empty rows are ignored. ReadList : Cell A6 in ActGrouping: Remaining rows are ignored after empty header cell. I know this warning is not affecting my model but I just want to get rid of this warning so I can focus on other real warnings. p.s. I already turned off all warnings from Project Option menu, but still I get these axll warnings.

Hi! I have just build my first model on AIMMS and when I tried to run the model, the next following error appeared: If the option “Data management style” is set to “Disk files and folders”, the procedure CaseCreate is not valid. Error in WebUI when using OneDrive

When I create a project in a folder, which is synced by OneDrive, and I try to add a widget in the WebUI, I get the following error message: “awf.state: Problem writing ‘MainProject/webui.json’ on the server (500: boost::filesystem::create_directory: Eine Datei kann nicht erstellt werden, wenn sie bereits vorhanden ist: [...])’ (translates to: “a file cannot be created when it already exists”). I can continue working in the WebUI, but when I close the project, all my work is lost. I do not experience the problem, as soon as I move the complete project folder outside of OneDrive. Does anyone else have the same problem? AIMMS version: 4.71.6.8 (64-bit)

Retrieving solution from asynchronous solving sessions in different GMPs

Hi, I want to solve several GMPs at the same time. I adopted AsynchronousExecute AIMMS example to my code. From the progress window I can see that all GMPs get to an optimal solution. However, I can only retrieve the solution of the last GMP. my small program give a wrong result

Dear all My mathematical problem is to schedule the device in a home to achieve the minimum cost during a day. I divide a day into 24 time slots. Each device with have its own Power rate and length of operation time. Main variables in my problem are starting time of devices at which a device is started to run. When I run my program, starting times of devices are always at time slot 1 and these are wrong results. I do not know why my program give wrong results.
