Solved

Hello everyone,I am new to AIMMS, I am trying to solve a unit commitment problem with four thermal generator units and a PV unit. I have added the four generators in a set  with index (u) with all their parameters in the model. Now, I want to add another source of power supply which is PV as a fixed parameter, that is, constant power output. How do I add and index the PV  as it’s also a generating unit but with different characteristics? This would also affect my power balance constraints of sum of total power supply equal to load demand.

Hi all,I’m sorry of the question is too basic, but I recently had to re-run an old code (originally developed in AIMMS 4.47) and I’m having lots of trouble correcting errors.I have a variable ( Ireal(ld) ) that uses another variable ( Vreal(bus,ph) ) in its calculation.I have an string parameter ( load_bus(ld) ) that has the “bus” value for each “ld” and a parameter ( load_ph(ld) ) that has the “ph” value for each “ld”.In  the old code I used Vreal(load_bus(ld), load_ph(ld)) to calculate the Ireal(ld), but in the new AIMMS version (4.88) I keep getting “The scope of string parameter “load_bus” has not been specified”.Can anybody please help me in what I’m missing?Thank you in advance.

Hi all,I'm a researcher and I use AIMMS with an Academic License.AIMMS is part of a routine I developed in Python and I used the "AIMMSSelector" to launch AIMMS, but since my license is now a cloud license I've not been able to launch AIMMS that way, it does not recognize the license, and only give me option to add a stand alone license or a network license server.I've been searching for materials regarding this, but couldn't find any. Can you help me? Here is the code I used to launch AIMMS previously:#Initialize AIMMS        sys.argv = ["makepy", "AimmsSelector.Selector64"]        AimmsObj = win32com.client.Dispatch("AimmsSelector.Selector64")        self.AimmsProj = AimmsObj.GetAimmsProject(f'{self.aimmsFileDir}\\{self.aimmsFileName}')        self.AimmsProj.StartupMode = 1 #Start minimized        self.AimmsProj.ProjectOpen(f'{self.aimmsFileDir}\\{self.aimmsFileName}', 0)

I can only get one shadow price for a constraint. I know that the constraints has a range of shadow prices. How can I get the range of shadow prices of this constraint? Thank you.

I am unable to create a simple custom widget using the AIMMS widget framework documentation from https://documentation.aimms.com/webui/dev-tut-1.html#your-first-custom-widget.I have reproduced all the steps as listed in the above webpage includingUsing NetworkData folder Creating subfolders in MainProject/WebUI/resources Creating the js files Trying to add the the widget (after refreshing page)I want to use the custom widget for two functionsVisualization for javascript d3 library Embedding an html file in the widgetIs anyone facing a similar problem/ or is aware of a solution (or an easier alternative)?

Hey. I am trying to implement a plot in a WinUI that displays simulation progress. In this plot, I am showing a variable value changing with simulation iteration (simulation continues until the iteration value has reached a limit). The variable is not in a math program, hence, I believe I can not obtain its value using callback (using RetrieveCurrentVariableValues procedure). Anyways, the variable gets updated at the end of every iteration. Presently, the plot between the variable value vs iteration does not show when the simulation in in progress (or when procedure is running) and appears after the procedure is over. Is there anyway to update the plot when the procedure in running? Thanks. Here is the structure of the procedure I am running: while (iteration limit is reached) solve Mathematical program1; solve Mathematical program2;Update Plot Variable using variables from math programs 1 and 2; (Plot variable to display in plot)iteration = iteration + 1;endwhile;

I am getting this error while uploading my aimmspack file. Could you please let me know what to do to resolve the same?

Hi,when writing to a database, is there a combination of “insert mode” and “dense mode”? I’m looking for something which does not delete the complete database table, but still writes data for rows where all parameters are empty.Benedikt

Hey. I am working to create a tool (GUI) in AIMMS platform. I have multiple pages in Page Manager for developing the tool. In one of the pages, I want to add an ‘Help’ button, clicking which should open the user manual of the tool (in pdf version - not the AIMMS user manual). Is it possible to implement this? Thanks.

I encountered this error when running the model. The model is fine, since it works with another set of input data. But with this particular data set, it gets stuck in the Presolving phase, and returns nothing. After force exciting the model, This is the message that it shows in the .err file. Have the same issue when running on the cloud as well.

I am wondering if it is possible to disable end-user filtering in one specific table in the UI?The use case as follows: the user needs to be able to do mass changes on a specific parameter displayed in the a table. The idea is that by filtering through a few multiselect widgets the user can define which rows are displayed in the table, and then via buttons or widget actions apply the mass changes. To avoid the confusion for the user, I want to restict the user from applying end-user filtering, since this will not work appropriately with the mass change procedures.

Hi, The AIMMS Portal allows developers to grant permissions to the aimms apps at different levels ( environment / Group/ User )In a situation where the permissions were invariably modified, reset or lost.Is it feasible to retrieve permissions to an app from a previous day?  Is it feasible to retrieve history of all permission modifications that have been made to an app?  Is it feasible to retrieve history of all added users ?

Hello! In the WebUI of AIMMS I created a bar chart containing based on 23 data points. However I would like to order the different bars in an ascending order. Is this possible in the WebUI?  Next to that I have another question: in the same WebUI I have another bar chart which shows the workload of 60 different nurses. Right now each of the nurses gets a specific color, however there are three different types of nurses. So in the bar chart it would be nice if each nurse of a certain type has the same color. So, for example, all nurses from type 1 get a green color in the bar chart. Is this possible in AIMMS? Thanks in advance!  Jelle

Hi AIMMSians,I used to run the GUROBI solver asynchronously a few months ago. But now I am limited to use only one session each time. I use the academic license and the only change is the new academic license delivery, so I guess that is the reason for the new limitation. Can you confirm my guess? if yes, would it be possible to give academics the access for solvingasynchronous sessions in GUROBI and CPLEX?

Hello, Has anyone had success in reading Excel files residing on a Sharepoint? Any pointer or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,Scott

Hi, I'm trying to upload a custom image from my desktop as a background image (in WebUI) for a study project. However, I do not know how to do this, as I'm not an experienced programmer. Can someone help me, please?

Hi Nice members,Hope you are doing good. I have a question. I have many points and I am constructing a network in AIMMS such that all points are connected to one main source point but not only in direct manner. These points can be directly connected or connected to each other as well to be connect to source point (Such that end point is connected to the points lying in middle of source and end points). My decision variable is binary which tells either any two points are connected or not. Objective is to minimize the cost which actually depends on creating the total shortest connected path which obeys the constraints. I want to know the “xyz” property of any point which actually depends on its connection to the previous node(distance from previous node it is connected to)  plus the “xyz” property of previous node. How can I write it in an equation in AIMMS. I do not know the order in which the connections of nodes are going to be happen because it is the optimization problem. It was a l

I was wondering if the following workflow is possible in AIMMS WebUI.User runs a procedure - this could include a web::request_invoke_async() or Execute(), for example User can continue other work Status bar procedure polls for an update and displays statusCurrently, I could setup a manual polling procedure that the user can click and run to check the status. I imagine one can setup a separate app that gets an ID and details of user request and polls for the status and runs an AIMMS procedure using AIMMS PRO API to update the status bar. (Is it even possible to run a procedure in an active AIMMS session/job through the PRO API?) It is a little too convoluted to setup simple use cases.

I would like to index by number for the code provided below, but I get the warning that numeric values can not be used for indexing. Is it possible in AIMMS to do this?

I am trying to implement the Rough Cut Capacity Planning for an school assignment. I currently have all constraints working except for the first constraint, since I do not know how I can loop over subset of time which is determined by two parameters release date(rj) and due date (dj).

Hi AIMMSians, I am using the AMD 3995WX processor which has 128 logical processors. I realized that a single instance of AIMMS only uses 64 logical processors as processors are grouped by windows’ limit (64 cores). To use all 128 processors, I can run two instances of AIMMS at the same time. The first instance gets affinity of group0. Then I need to modify the affinity of the second instance to use the second NUMA (group1). Still, I would like one instance of AIMMS employs all logical processors. I assume the same problem exists on servers where the number of logical cores often exceeds 64. Is there any way to bypass windows' processor group policy (i.e. make AIMMS group aware) and distribute the job between all 128 available threads? Note 1: I tried CPLEX and GUROBI solvers. I am not sure if this limitation is related to AIMMS or the solvers.Note 2: I am aware of disabling Hyperthreading/SMT, but that is not desirable.

Is it possible to limit the solver session of multi objective optimization for a specific time?

Hi, I know this was asked before (I believe a > 1 year ago), but is there already a way to show the values in a bar-line chart. I know you can have a nice hint-text, but I want these labels shown immediately, so you can get all relevant data in one single view/screenshot (useful for ppt presentations for managers). In addition, the values for the bars and line I want to show have different ranges, thereby having a secondary Y axis is almost a necessity. Is that already possible, or expected anytime soon? My customer now copies data to Excel so they can make the graph they want, which I believe is a pity. Many thanks,Frank

In your answer to my previous question, you mentioned I could keep the questions coming. Last couple of days I have been playing quite a bit with AIMMS and the WebUI again, so here are some of my questions @Pratap Kumble  . In the winUI, I had the option of denoting a string parameter that should be used for the display of the values of an index of a parameter in the pivottable. For example, my set could be elements {0,1,2} but I could set a string parameter to be used to display the values of the set, meaning in the table it would be shown as { “My option 1”, “My option 2”, “My option 3” } Is this still easily possible and am I overlooking something, or is this option not possible anymore? One of the options I liked in the winUI is setting the columns to auto-width based on the data that was displayed. This way I did not have to manually figure out what is the best width for each of the columns. Is this option still possible in the webUI? Do I understand correctly that the difference

Hello everyone, I am new to AIMMS and I think I like it because of its graphical user friendliness. I want to use AIMMS to optimize the charging profile of a number of vehicles in a decentralized way such that the original central problem is decomposed to be solved independently as a subproblem by each vehicle. This is to be done for vehicles 1 to N over a number of time steps. I discovered this is difficult for me because the objective function in AIMMS is usually a scalar. Please, how can I do this? thanks
