I am trying to define a variable with following index domain (i, v in Vehicles_i(i),j, j1 in Nodes_J(j))I am getting a message ', )' is expected.What is the error in this definition?When I am defining as (i, v in Vehicles_i(i),j, j1)  or (i, v, j , j1 in Nodes_J(j)). It does not give any error.

Dear Team,I am facing one problem while writing a constraint. Let's say, I have three boxes with several items. Say box 1 has 4 items, box 2 has 6 items and box 3 has 9 items. I am processing the items day wise considering time as a constraint. I want that, if I am selecting a particular box, I will process all the items of that box 1st then will move to the next box. What I am getting that Day1-box1- 2 itemsDay1-box2-3 itemsDay1-box3-2 itemsDay2-box1-2 items.I do not want it. I want, choose a box on day 1, process all the 4 items based on the available time. I have written a constraint to handle it, which is like sum[d, v(d, boxnumber)] >= p_items(boxnumber) - v_Penalty(boxnumber)It means, I am trying to get the item number in a box while minimizing the penalty in the objective function.  Kindly help if I am doing anything wrong.

Hi,trying to see if I can get AIMMS (running locally on my computer) to talk to one of our internal authenticated API endpoints, but running into a problem with the callback url.In the documentation, I see that the callback URL aimms will use locally is http://localhost/oauth2. However, when I run it from my own computer, I see it is actually using http://localhost:8080/oauth2.Both of these unfortunately are not on the list of approved callback urls….Since I am not the owner of the application that I trying to call, it is quite difficult for me to request a new URL to be added to the list of approved URLs. There is a local developer URL already approved and would like to make AIMMS use that particular one. The URL that is approved is http://localhost:3000/login/azure/authorized. Is there any way I can make AIMMS use this particular callback URL instead of the current hardcoded (which also is different from the documentation).

Hey everyone,I'm working on a vehicle routing problem (VRP) project where the routing will involve more than one company, and customers may have orders from more than one company. So, the idea would be for the companies to collaborate with each other, and the customer would receive just one delivery.Given the larger set of available companies, I need to use in my constraints subsets that contain only the companies used for each customer. For example, if I have three companies, A, B, and C, how can I create a set with only companies A and B for customer I, another set with companies A and C for customer J, another set with only company B for customer K, and so on?My idea was to create a binary parameter, 1 when the customer requests that company and 0 otherwise. But can I write this parameter in the set definition? I thought about using if and else, but I'm having trouble because the parameter depends on two variables (customer and company) and the company set only on one (company).I'm

I have a stochastic optimization model wherein two-stage SP is not applicable. As such, I want to utilize sample average approximation for my solution to consider at least 100 scenarios with equal probabilities then arriving at one single solution. Is this kind of methodology default in AIMMS? Or are there things that I should do first before doing so?

Hi,I am trying to write a constraint with index domain on certain indicesvBinary1('1') + vBinary1('3') + vBinary1('5') = 3 * vBinary2;‘h’ is the index. Here ‘h’ is taking value {‘1’, ‘3’, ‘5’}. Do not consider it as ODD. I tried with ```index domain: | h in {"1", "3", "5"} sum[h, vBinary1(h)] = 3 * vBinary2;```It is giving errors by saying The scope of index "h" has not been specified. Help to understand it. Do not define another set for these indices only. That I know how to do it.

Hi, is it possible to define a complex variable in AIMMS?

Hi all!I built a feasible model in SG Navigator with 21 production plants and a detailed BOM per item and location. However, I must add constraints related to the total production per item and location during the period of analysis. I tried three ways but any of them worked: Adding Minimum capacity and Force Open = 1 in the Production Sheet + Adding Minimum capacity per Location and Item in the Production Routing Sheet. Result = The model was infeasible  Adding Maximum capacity in the Production Sheet + Adding Minimum capacity per Location and Item in the Production Routing Sheet. Result = The model does not respect all of the constraints  Adding Minimum capacity and Maximum capacity (both of them with the same quantities) in the Production Sheet +  Production Routing Sheet. Result = The model was infeasible How should I model those constraints? Thanks!

May I know how to solve the duplicate column error since I have put the Xconstraint(i,l,g,g0) so that duplicate column does not occur? Whoever is the sender Q(i,l,g,g0) of the product cannot be the same one who is receiving the product Q(i,l,g0,g) to satisfy the local demand. May I know if there is any other way to solve this problem instead of using the constraint such as X(i,l,g,g0) + X(i,l,g0,g) <= 1 since the system does not apply this constraint at all?

I currently have a study concerning bi-objective optimization. To give context, the two objectives are to minimize total cost and to minimize the average travel distance. As of the moment, I am only a beginner in using AIMMS and I only know how to use it for single-objective problems. I just want to know if it is possible in AIMMS to do multi-objective optimization? If yes, how can I do it?

I’m currently doing an optimization model through AIMMS and I want to consider multiple scenarios for my study. Is it possible that I have considered, for example, 100 scenarios and my decision variables will only arrive at one solution that considers all scenarios? In my case, I only have one varying parameter (waste generation) in each scenario. I just want to clarify if it is possible in AIMMS and I want to know how it happens that it will arrive only at one solution. It would be a great help if you can answer my query. Thank you!

When I use the "DistributionInverseCumulative" function for beta distribution, I get the following error message from Visual C++:--Assertion failed!Program: ...Aimms\4.85.5.3-x64-VS2017\Bin\libaimms3.dllFile: c:\gitlab-runner\builds\pvap61xc\0\aimms\a...\beta.cppLine: 173Expression: istat==0--In the MainInitialization I implemented the function as follows:b_p_1 := 6;b_q_1 := 3;b_a_1 := 1;b_b_1 := 5;for n doy(n) := DistributionInverseCumulative(Beta(b_p_1,b_q_1,b_a_1,b_b_1), Uniform(0,1))endfor;For other distributions (e.g. normal distribution) the "DistributionInverseCumulative" works without any problems.I would appreciate any pointers on what I should do so that this function doesn't produce an error message?

I am trying to open a project that was originally written in version 4.37. However I have a Community License so the earliest version I can use is 4.77. I have tried opening this project in both 4.77 and 24.2 and both will crash upon opening the project with no error message.I understand the large difference in versions may be causing an issue but I have no way to test on earlier versions. Is there any way I can identify what exactly is causing this issue and could it be something other than a version issue?

Hi! Does anyone know how to interrupt the calculation process and display the current results?

Hi all, I am aware that AIMMS will use all of the indices specified on the Left Hand Side of an assignment statement to loop over all combinations. When trying out something in a test project I am working on, I wanted to use this logic, but found that this does not work anymore when you are using formatstring on the LHS. Was wondering if this is on purpose or whether this behavior should be possible Example that works:spStringParameter( StringToElement(sTargetSet, iSource, 1) ) := formatstring("Test :: element %e", iSource) ;  Example that does not work:spStringParameter( StringToElement(sTargetSet, formatstring("%e", iSource), 1) :=  formatstring("Test :: element %e", iSource) ;  When running the second one, I get an error indicating that the scope of iSource has not been specified. The above is a minimal example of the problem, not completely the same as what I had. I can work around it by either putting the statement in an explicit for-loop, or create the mapping isource → itarget in

I have one set - Modes, with multiple indexes, mp, m, and mn. These translate to Previous Mode, Current Mode, and Next Mode.In WebUI, I have a table with a parameter that includes two of these indexes, Previous Mode and Current Mode.I’d like to change the name of mp to be Previous Mode and m to be Current Mode. It seems, though, that in fieldnames.properties, I can only change the name of the set (Modes).  Any ideas?

Dear all, I was very happy to see that an ADLS has been added for every AIMMS Cloud account. We would like to use this, and have found that it works well on the Cloud, however we cannot get it to work locally (from a local AIMMS Developer environment): it looks like we need the Storage Access Key for the ADLS, but I haven’t been able to figure out where to find/access this. Could anyone help us out? Thanks!Meike

Hello!I have a MIQCP problem that I solve in AIMMS. I have tried to solve it both with Octeract and Gurobi. I solve the same problem with different data sets. For one of the data sets, the solving time for Gurobi is 319 seconds and the gap is 0%, while after 1 hour of solving with Octeract the gap is still 420%.For another data set, the solving time for Gurobi is 1834 seconds and the gap is 0%, while after 1 hour of solving with Octeract, the gap is still 9000%.Does this sound reasonable? I am not that familiar with how these two solvers work, but I thought it was a bit strange that the two solvers give very different results.Thank you in advance :)

Anyone happen to know how to hide the scrollbars in a compact scalar widget in a side panel?  This is annoying us:

Hi everyone!   Is there a way to change if I want to show or not the unit and the number of decimals by parameter?   Example:    My wish: 500     |     0.00%   Thanks.

Dear AIMMS Community,Does anyone have any tips/documentation/experience for moving parameters and data to a different CDM category? (or, perhaps alternatively, create a new parameter in the correct category and then migrating the data). As background: for a customer we are using scenario functionality, with each scenario consisting of 3 CDM categories: master data, dynamic data and planning data. Scenarios can share the same version of this data, e.g. 2 scenarios using the same master data but different dynamic & planning data.Currently the customer doesn't use this option of shared data, because a few parameters within the master data category are actually dynamic. So we want to move these parameters (or perhaps solve it in a different way?) Does anyone have experience with moving data to a different category? We already have many scenarios that we want to keep, so anything we do should leave those intact (in theory that should be possible, because currently none of the scenarios

Hi all, playing around a bit more with the webui and having some more questions.I want to create a dialog page where the user can upload a couple of files and give the name of the scenario into which these input files should be loaded (potentially some other text based input). In the original winUI, I would create something like this (as example what I want to achieve): Now I am trying to achieve this with a dialog page in the webui, but when I want to add a scalar, I get the following: Where I think there is way too much emphasis on this scalar value. I can make use of the experimental feature of compact scalars, but then it looks weird with scroll bars. Also not sure if I can modify the size of the ‘header’ (label showing now spNewScenarioName) and the actual input field: I think the closest I can get this is creating a table with either scalars, or making a set with ‘headers’ to be put in the labels and create an indexed string parameter over this. That way, it starts to look like t

Hi,I have downloaded the newest AIMMS version (24.1) and opened a project using the AIMMS launcher. However, the JSON WebUI file (..\MainProject\WebUI\webui.json) contains this: "version": "4.67.0". Do I have to update the WebUI manually to get the newest AIMMS WebUI version? Thanks in advance.Kind regards,Martijn

Hello, It seems that when you upload a file using the dex::ReadFromFile (dex 23.1.1.2) and using an excel mapping structure like: <AimmsExcelMapping>    <ExcelSheetMapping name="Demand">        <RowMapping>uploading a wrong sheet name does not results in a failure which I would have expected to be. Do I need to add something to the mapping? Or is this not how it supposed to work?Glad to hear any feedback.Marc
