The AIMMS Design System is now available! It outlines our development of WebUI features, and serves as a guide for our developers when designing SC Navigator apps.We made it publicly available so our customers can benefit these guidelines when designing their own AIMMS apps.In it, you’ll find a reference of our UX developments and recently developed features, as well as tips and tricks to design your application to work better for your users’ needs. It can help your get started building your first WebUI app, improve an existing app, or think through a design for your next project.Visit the AIMMS Design System
Hey all, This example uses the forecasting library! You can add this library by selecting the library Forecasting from the AIMMS Library Repository. This app illustrates a small cookie factory that wanted to use its historic data to predict future demand. Here is a screenshot of the comparison page! 😊 Use this topic to anything related to this project, as doubts, feature requests and so on!You can find more information here: https://how-to.aimms.com/Articles/550/550-demand-forecasting.html
Hello Everyone! One more renewed example is live! Come check! This example introduces a knapsack problem. The example considers a data set of 16 items which can be included in the knapsack. The objective is to maximize the accumulated value of the items. The number of items is restricted by the maximum weight that can be carried in the knapsack. We used a lot WebUI new features, you can download the app by clicking here. Feel free to use this thread to anything you need about this example.
I see in the release notes that the default value of a parameter is now only available if it is specified. However, I always use this option to empty selection boxes. I tried addding '’ as a default value, but that still does not allow me to select the “Default:: “ option in the dropdown. So my question is “What should I now do to empty my selectionbox (and show the data for all possible values of the parameter - instead of only for the selected value (location in my case)?
Hello Everyone!Second renewed example is live! Come check! In this example an optimal employee assignment is determined for a chain of restaurants. Each restaurant has different demands concerning the number of employees available and their skills. The objective of the optimization is to find the best placement of staff at the lowest cost, while taking into account shortage of skilled workforce. The employees work in shifts and each position is primarily fulfilled by skilled employees. Assigning a less experienced staff member to a task will have impact on the overall cost.We used a lot WebUI new features, you can download the app by clicking here. Feel free to use this thread to anything you need about this example.
Dear Community, we want to be able to edit multiple cells of a WebUI table, like using shift or ctrl to celect the cells and later edit them at once. We would like to be able to use copy paste as well. We coundn't find any resources describing a way of enabling these functions. If you know how to do it, or have some helpful resources please share it with us.
Hello, For a university project we use AIMMS to solve a model, we also would like to use the WEB UI, however after building the WEB UI it does not save. Why does it not save, is it because we have an academic license? In the AIMMS model the module 'AIMMSWEBUI [read only]' has the property no save, however since it is read only, we are not able to change it. Is there a solution for this problem?Kind regards!
Help on customization in Map widget - remove default stroke color black when clicked on any node/location
Hello everyone! Is it possible to remove the default stroke color (black) when user clicks or selects any node/location which has already defined stroke color? This is so that the customized stoke colors (defined in model) for the nodes remain functional even when any node is selected. I see customized stroke colors appear back when clicked twice on any node.In my case, by clicking on any location, the stroke colors are turned off and default stroke color black turns on. By clicking on same location again, we can see all stroke colors for potential locations(orange) and optimal location(red). Please find attached screenshots for reference. Thanks in advance for help on this case!
Hi,Many of our projects include export functionality to Excel; which is a good way to allow the end-user to continue to work on the data and/or use it as a report out. Proper formatting of the excel file is in these cases high on the priority list of the users. One can think of: setting fonts, right number of decimals, putting data in a pivot (correctly organized). Basically, saving the user the manual work to redo these formatting actions after each export to excel. In the win-ui we applied the following trick to get the excel file formatted as desired:Create an excel macro to perform all the required actions Include an excel file with the macro in the aimms project When exporting, use a copy of that excel file, put the data in and run the macro via the aimms function Spreadsheet::RunMacroSince we are developing web-ui apps, which are cloud deployed, this trick is not available any more. The model runs in the cloud without the ability to running an excel macro. Because the AIMMS Excel
Hello! I want to present production lines in my gantt chart. Or I need to create another line for each? Thanks for the help!
Optimization models have a lot of information that needs the user's attention to either review, compare or change. Showing such information on pages usually compels the user to scroll endlessly or scroll up and down when comparing data or switch to and fro between pages. One of the reasons for introducing the Grid Layout was to bring consistency and familiarity within the application. For example, majority of the screen could be used for data widgets, and the left- or right-hand sides can be used for user actions. We also introduced UI components like the Side Panel, Dialog pages, and Status Bar such that common elements could be placed in these components to save real estate on the pages and it becomes easier for the users as well.Even though these components help in many ways, some applications still have a lot more information to show that usually end up in the page having a scroll or where the workflow panel is being used show sub-steps, as illustrated below. How do you or would y
Dear Community,As explained in the previous article New WebUI Widget Framework!, we are working on POCs and we think its time to show a sneak peek into the progress. Here is a simplified representation of how the new framework would work.First, as we progressed with the specification we realized that JSON’s can be quite lengthy and scary to look at. So we decided to support the specification in XML as well, which is more concise and readable. Second, we are working on integrating our existing features so that you do not have to change anything in your model. Features like:Custom HTML Tooltips Item Actions Annotations defined in the AnnotationsIdentifier layer or the identifier. Element Texts for Set elementsThird, we are looking at new features that will add value, for eg.In widget Legends that can be toggled On/Off Clearer tooltips X-axis and Y-axis Titles Data labels in/on the chart plots, eg: in the barsHere are some screenshots to get a first hand preview.Chart without LegendChart
Lists with text aligned as "justify" inside a Text Widget on Web UI are not being displayed as expected
Hello, I am using WebUI and I would like to create create a Side Panel that contains a generic List.I order to do so, I have added a Text Widget to the Side Panel. Then, I tried to fill it through both the input field and by setting a string parameter as input. For both approaches, the List actually displays a very unusual alignment to the left when “justified” is applied as “Text Alignment”. Page Configuration:Page View as a Side Panel:My goal is to make it look closer to what is rendered in a web browser when the corresponding HTML code is loaded. For example, the HTML code corresponding to those pictures above could be presented as:<ul style="width: 20%"> <li style="text-align: justify"> <b>Excepteur:</b> sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum; </li> <li style="text-align: justify"> <b>Excepteur:</b> sint cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia

Dear Community, As explained in the previous article New WebUI Widget Framework - Part 2, we are working on a new and more robust WebUI Widget framework. While we are at it, we are also building new Column Chart and Line Chart widgets. We look forward to having these 2 widgets available as a Beta release towards end of this year. We will offer a demo of these features in our upcoming `Online User Meetup | Live WebUI Product Update`. Please register here. We have also improved our Widgets Option Editor. This has resulted in better performance and new features such as:Categorizing index related options (Like Store-Focus, Totals, etc.) Default identifier options Options inheritanceFor example, on the Column Chart, we can now set defaults for generic options like Display Units and Num Decimals, and then inherit these default values upon each of the data identifiers. You can overwrite these inherited options by setting an explicit value.Column Chart The new Column Chart and Line Chart
