Dear AIMMS Community,Does anyone have any tips/documentation/experience for moving parameters and data to a different CDM category? (or, perhaps alternatively, create a new parameter in the correct category and then migrating the data). As background: for a customer we are using scenario functionality, with each scenario consisting of 3 CDM categories: master data, dynamic data and planning data. Scenarios can share the same version of this data, e.g. 2 scenarios using the same master data but different dynamic & planning data.Currently the customer doesn't use this option of shared data, because a few parameters within the master data category are actually dynamic. So we want to move these parameters (or perhaps solve it in a different way?) Does anyone have experience with moving data to a different category? We already have many scenarios that we want to keep, so anything we do should leave those intact (in theory that should be possible, because currently none of the scenarios

Hi all, playing around a bit more with the webui and having some more questions.I want to create a dialog page where the user can upload a couple of files and give the name of the scenario into which these input files should be loaded (potentially some other text based input). In the original winUI, I would create something like this (as example what I want to achieve): Now I am trying to achieve this with a dialog page in the webui, but when I want to add a scalar, I get the following: Where I think there is way too much emphasis on this scalar value. I can make use of the experimental feature of compact scalars, but then it looks weird with scroll bars. Also not sure if I can modify the size of the ‘header’ (label showing now spNewScenarioName) and the actual input field: I think the closest I can get this is creating a table with either scalars, or making a set with ‘headers’ to be put in the labels and create an indexed string parameter over this. Hi,I have downloaded the newest AIMMS version (24.1) and opened a project using the AIMMS launcher. However, the JSON WebUI file (..\MainProject\WebUI\webui.json) contains this: "version": "4.67.0". Do I have to update the WebUI manually to get the newest AIMMS WebUI version?Thanks in advance.Kind regards,Martijn

Hello, It seems that when you upload a file using the dex::ReadFromFile (dex 23.1.1.2) and using an excel mapping structure like: <AimmsExcelMapping>    <ExcelSheetMapping name="Demand">        <RowMapping>uploading a wrong sheet name does not results in a failure which I would have expected to be. Do I need to add something to the mapping? Or is this not how it supposed to work?Glad to hear any feedback.Marc

Hi All,I’m trying to write a parameter with dex using dex::WriteToFile() procedure. The parameter has an index year that is a subset of the calendar year. (simple calendar with unit year). The excel download won’t fill the year column (see screenshot below). I have the latest .dex library 23.1.1.2).  Could anyone explain what went wrong here?

Dear community,I have a question about min and max values for variables. I have a nonlinear problem. What I want to model is that if the variable a(t) has a value larger than 2,000,000, it should be set to 2,000,000. But it is no problem that a(t) is above 2,000,000, it should not be “punished”. I have the same for the minimum value -400,000. When I just set the min and max values in the range of the variable when I define it, it seems that the optimal solution found is one where the variable a(t) does not exceed 2,000,000 or gets below -400,000.Am I right in my understanding of the range of variables? And how do I then correctly impose these constraints?Thank you in advance :)

“outage_status(cd)” is a stochastic Paramater, and “outage_units(cd)” is a set and colects u if  “outage_status(cd)” >0. I wonder whether the data of set “outage_units(cd)” will change with the variable “outage_status(cd)” in different scenarios.

I’m currently working on a resource transport model using AIMMS and I've encountered a symmetry challenge for resource balance between zones.In the case when I would like to transport 200MW of power from zone 1 to zone 2, the net outflow of power from zone 2 must be equal to the net inflow of power into zone 1, which can be represented by the equation below:F_in (z,z’) = F_out (z, z’)whereby F_in (z,z’) is represented as the net inflow into zone z (zone 1) from zone z’ (zone 2);while F_out (z,z’) is represented as the net outflow from zone z (zone 2) to zone z’ (zone 1).Does anyone know of an AIMMS function that can seamlessly handle this equation? I have set and values are assigned to set after clicking button on UI. I also want to show what are the values are addi=ed to set on UI. can you please guide what is widget suitable for this purpose. I tried with table. below is screenshot for same. But it is displaying 1 addition to set values.

Hi all,We have a relatively simple math program with the potential for duplicate columns. However, knowledge of which variables are duplicates is actually beneficial to the user.While I could go through and examine my parameters/constraints to manually search these, a much faster (computationally speaking) option would just be to have CPLEX report them out to the user, as I wouldn’t need to iterate through lots of parameters. Is there a way I can easily take these warnings from CPLEX and give them to the user? Any help would be appreciated here. Thank you in advance!

I want to check if my identifiers have comments written in it’s attributes. I am writing a procedure to do that. But I don’t know if there is any already existing function to get the comments attribute of a given identifier.

I have created a basic model to read and write excel files. I have created procedure to do that in my model. But when I am creating the download widget in the webui, I cannot access the procedure to download the excel file. And for the matter, I cannot access any of the identifiers as well in any other widget.

When using the StringToMoment function to calculate the number of hours between two dates and running into something weird: As you can see AIMMS tells me 0 minutes elapsed between 10:00:00 and 11:00:00 My guess is that somehow AIMMS is assuming the referencedate as UTC time, while it assumes the second date as my local timezone.I have also tried to use StringToMoment("%c%y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S %TZ", [minute], "2023-10-11 10:00:00" , "2023-10-11 11:00:00 UTC")To indicate I really want to have the second timestamp as UTC, but that did not help. What is the small/obvious thing I am overlooking here?

Let me first start with one remark: The openAPI client generation is one awesome addition!!! 😀With a bit of a simple workaround I was able to create relatively easy an AIMMS library that was able to import a rather large and complex JSON file that had a quite deep nested structure in it.Now that I have the data in an AIMMS library, I know am trying to write the code that parses the information from the library into the actual AIMMS sets/parameters that I will use in a model.For this part, one of the problems of the nesting is that the generated library works on lots of subsets of integers that restart counting from 0 every time In the following example (that hopefully illustrates it enough)Locations property (contains list of locations):Element 1 in locations list (will map to i_locations=1 in aimms library) LocationName: Location A Products   (contains list of products) Element 1 in productions list  (contains dictionary of name/color, maps to locations::product::i_product=1 in aim

Hi Everyone,I need help in implementing an optimization problem concerning the Vehicle Routing in AIMMS.  I am currently indiciating the constraints for the mathematical problem. The index i and j is for the customers or nodes and k is for the vehicles. I now want to implement the constraint, that each vehicle can only leave the material-depot once. The material-depot i indicated by the value “0” for i or j.  The mathematical formulation is now: sum x(0,j,k) <= 1In AIMMS it is indicated as follows: sum(j, x((0,j,k) <= 1)In this case, the index i is directly indicated with the value 0 for the depot but wenn I integrate this formulation in AIMMS, I receive a warning: “The symbol 0 is not expected”.  How can I indicate this formulation in AIMMS in the correct way so that the system understands that “0” is the value for i?  Maybe someone can help me.. First question:How do you make a variable have a consistent value across time? How to make a constraint that will make a variable equal to a previous value likevar(n,t) = var(n,t-1) Second Question:How can you model differently the 9 and 10th constraint?The main function of those constraint are a switch-like event. The constraints ensure that the binary variables for both set will be open, run for a number of time, and then stop.The main difference between the two are for the letter set, the binary variable should be open right from the start which means the binary variable must be equal to 1 at  time = 1. How can you model this differently?  Attached are the additional info about the AIMMS model.

Hi,I recently started using SC Navigator and am experiencing issues loading my dataset to the app. When I try to load the Excel file (attached) for a Network Design model problem, the app displays an error as shown belowWhere I could I be going wrong here? Dear AIMMS, I get the following warning about a predeclared procedure when opening AIMMS 4.97 "Warning: The 'queryMap' argument has a dimension mismatch. This will be treated as an error in a future AIMMS versions. Perhaps the argument should be declared as a Handle.”How can this be solved? Regards, Marit

Hi all, I am considering migrating a heritage WinUI app to WebUI. One of the reasons for this is that there are quite some intense calculations currently being run on user machines. When I migrate to WebUI, and the user presses a button to run a procedure, is that procedure executed on local host machine, or is it executed using server resources?

Hi,I have a procedure that I run with pro::DelegateToServer. When I run this procedure in an end-user session on the cloud, the global error handler runs fine when it comes across this statement:raise error "artificial error";.I have set the global error handler in the option menu: However, when running the same procedure in a delegated server session, the global error hander doesn't run. As workaround, I now included this onError block in my code, but it feels a bit weird to me that this is required to trigger the global error handler.  Is this expected behavior? I'm running AIMMS 4.97 on the Cloud.
